Roger Reynolds Nursery & Carriage Stop

Making Beautiful Communities, One Garden At A Time

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that after 97 years in the same location serving the residents of Menlo Park and the surrounding communities, Roger Reynolds Nursery & Carriage Stop has closed its doors for the last time.

This has not been an easy decision. Despite all our efforts since the severe economic downturn of 2008 our business has been unable to adequately recover.

I thank the generations of loyal, faithful customers who have supported the Roger Reynolds tradition these many years. On behalf of my family and staff, I thank each and every one of you for being with us. Your patronage and support has been most valued and appreciated. Thank you!

Sally’s Garden – A Quiet Corner for Relaxing

Roger Reynolds Nursery Carriage Stop

The two back corners of our property were devoted to areas for relaxation. Sally’s garden is, Sally Halstead, our owner’s favorite spot to get away from everything. If you were feeling the need of a quiet place to gather your thoughts we invited you to spend some time in Sally’s Garden.

The Redwood Grove

Another area where you could find a cool and quiet spot on a warm summer day is our Redwood Grove in the other back corner of our property. Under the shade of ancient redwoods you can’t help but start to feel refreshed and relaxed.

Our Always Popular Children’s Playground

Kids loved to play in our beautiful play structure, complete with slide and sandbox, while their parents were shopping. Roger Reynolds hosted several family friendly events every year from scavenger hunts to pumpkin carvings.

Happy Earth Day from Roger Reynolds

Staying sane in crazy times.

Happy Earth Day

EARTH DAY reminds us that Nature can be a welcome tranquilizer.

Consider creating a personal garden where you can find peace, even if it’s a single potted plant.

A remarkable English poet wrote:

There is peace within a garden, a peace so deep and calm,
that when the heart is troubled, it’s like a soothing balm.
There’s life within a garden, a life that still goes on,
Filling the empty places when older plants have gone.
There’s glory in the garden at every time of year.
Spring, summer, autumn, winter, to fill the heart with cheer.
So ever tend your garden, its beauty to increase.
For in it you’ll find solace. And in it you’ll find peace.

-Lady Rosamund Langham

May your heart find peace while tending your garden
